Cabin Leader: Lukas “Smokey The Prayer”
Hey! I’m Lukas Hoyt, or Smokey the Prayer. I am excited to serve your child this week. I am from Roseville, MN, and a sophomore at the University of Minnesota. I enjoy walking my dog in nature while praying to God, being in community with others, playing soccer, and playing ultimate frisbee. I love hearing the wisdom that kids can bring to the conversation and connecting with them on a deeper level. I wanted to be a cabin leader this summer for the first time because I remember the positive role model of my cabin leaders at Trout, and I would like to be the same type of cabin leader to my campers. I’m looking forward to seeing how much my campers will grow over the week, whether that is about the Bible, life skills, or just how to ride a horse
Cabin Leader Updates
We have had a great start to the week. We had a lot of fun swimming on the inflatable obstacle course. We had a blast during the night game, which was a camp scavenger hunt where we ran around in disguise as toy soldiers. We have learned that the Bible is our roadmap for our lives and that we can use our skills to glorify God. The Lake Trout campers are super eager to answer tons of questions during cabin discussion. Every time I have asked a question, a bunch of hands have shot up! We can't wait to see what the rest of the week has in store for us.
